Miko Marine has developed and demonstrated a new package solution, called Tank Sealer Kit, to be used on land-based tanks. A typical application is a fuel tank damaged by a colliding vehicle and oil is spraying out on the plant. Quickly applied and easy to use, Tank Sealer Kit has the potential to avoid a major oil spill in such a situation.

The kit is based on a special type of Magnetic Miko Plaster®, fitted with a neoprene sheet in the centre. The magnetic patch will stick to the steel surface of the tank while the neoprene centre with its spongy consistency will seal against the damage. External anchor magnets (MAM-003 and MAM-Light) are attached to the outside of the neoprene centre to press the patch against the damaged area and limit the leakage.

Tank Sealer Kit was developed upon request from AllMaritim AS, who will be distributing the kit to Norwegian customers.
